We are the people of Mary Queen of the Apostles Parish, in Brook Park, Ohio, dedicated to following the example of our Lord, Jesus Christ, through the Scriptures and Traditions of the Roman Catholic Church. We gather together to celebrate, to share, and to be nourished by the Eucharist. We promote religious education, spiritual growth and moral values by being faithful to the teachings of Jesus Christ. To show our love for God and one another, we live our lives committed to the dignity and salvation of each person, and we live our faith through compassion and service to those in need.

We are grateful to everyone who signed up for Adoration on Tuesdays. You are welcome to pray in the church, which is open Monday-Friday, 8:30-4PM (except on holidays), keeping in mind that Jesus is present 24/7 in the Holy Eucharist in the Tabernacle.

STREAMING

LIVE-STREAMING OF MASSES We will stream and upload the 8AM Masses on Monday and Tuesday mornings and the 4:30PM Sunday Vigil to enable our homebound to connect with the parish. For the rest of the week, EWTN telecasts a number of daily Masses, and our Cathedral streams its weekday Masses at 12N. On Sundays, besides the Masses on EWTN, Channel 43 (WUAB-TV) broadcasts two Masses: 8AM and 10AM from our Cathedral. We realize this will be an inconvenience to some folks, but we tried to reach a compromise based on our recent survey. Initially, one possibility was to cut the streaming entirely but we will not do that.

Here's the link to "Q-Tube":

We will also livestream these Masses on our parish Facebook page. You can view the video and other information on this page without being a Facebook member which you can access directly from our parish website mqabrookpark.org or Facebook:

About an hour after Mass concludes, the video will be uploaded to Q-Tube (our parish's YouTube channel). which you can access directly from our parish website: mqabrookpark.org or at "Q-tube" as shown above.

From Fr. Michael

Brothers and Sisters,

Merry Christmas! Today’s feast, the Holy Family, is the Sunday within the Octave of Christmas. An octave is an eight-day period that historically constituted one continuous liturgical celebration. In the past, the Mass prayers during an Octave were the same ones as the feast day which began the octave—and there were several such occasions throughout the year. Today, the only octaves that remain are those of Easter and Christmas and individual days within each octave are now their own celebrations.

Celebration of the Holy Family draws our hearts to the importance of family life according to God’s design. The nuclear family is the building block of society in which children are brought forth and educated. It is also the domestic church where the Faith is first encountered and handed on to succeeding generations.

It is not a secret that the family is under attack by today’s secular culture. Many forces are trying to distort the nature of the family beyond or away from the natural law and divine law. We are called as disciples of Jesus to hold fast to the truth and to act with the mind of the Church, which speaks in harmony with reason and revelation.

Pope St. John Paul II famously said, “As the family goes, so goes the nation and so goes the whole world in which we live.” The obscuring of the nature of the family, and decreased emphasis on traditional family life, occur not only at the peril of those involved but for all of society as well. The progressive movement away from traditional family life is an insult to human dignity that only weakens society.

And, just as the family is essential to the Church and to society, every vocation servers the family. The matter of caring and praying for families is not just the purview of husbands and wives. Consecrated religious, consecrated single, and ordained ministers are all at the service of the family—the great building block of society and, ultimately, the Kingdom of Heaven.

May the Lord, who himself encountered the world through family life, pour his abundant grace on our families; and may Mary and Joseph, who raised the Savior of the world, intercede for family life.

In amore Christi,

Fr. Michael

THE ROCK AM1260

AM 1260 THE ROCK NEWS!

Pope Benedict XVI said, “It is the beautiful task of Advent to awaken in all of us memories of goodness and thus to open doors of hope”. AM 1260 The Rock prays that you and your family experienced a beautiful Advent season and are filled with hope and peace during the Christmas season and beyond. Now in our 10th year, AM 1260 The Rock has truly been blessed with listeners and donors such as yourself. Because of this, on the 11th of each month there is a Mass said for all our listeners, donors, benefactors, and their intentions, at various parishes throughout the Diocese of Cleveland.  Why on the 11th you ask? Our first broadcast was on May 11th, 2015! Please celebrate Mass with us on Saturday, January 11, 2025, at St. Adalbert, in Berea, at 4:30 PM, as prayers are offered for you and other AM 1260 The Rock supporters.
