We are the people of Mary Queen of the Apostles Parish, in Brook Park, Ohio, dedicated to following the example of our Lord, Jesus Christ, through the Scriptures and Traditions of the Roman Catholic Church. We gather together to celebrate, to share, and to be nourished by the Eucharist. We promote religious education, spiritual growth and moral values by being faithful to the teachings of Jesus Christ. To show our love for God and one another, we live our lives committed to the dignity and salvation of each person, and we live our faith through compassion and service to those in need.

STREAMING

LIVE-STREAMING OF MASSES We will stream and upload the 8AM Masses on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday mornings and the 4:30PM Sunday Vigil to enable our homebound to connect with the parish. For the rest of the week, EWTN telecasts a number of daily Masses, and our Cathedral streams its weekday Masses at 12N. On Sundays, besides the Masses on EWTN, Channel 43 (WUAB-TV) broadcasts two Masses: 8AM and 10AM from our Cathedral. We realize this will be an inconvenience to some folks, but we tried to reach a compromise based on our recent survey. Initially, one possibility was to cut the streaming entirely but we will not do that.

About an hour after Mass concludes, the video will be uploaded to Q-Tube (our parish's YouTube channel). which you can access directly from our parish website: mqabrookpark.org or at "Q-tube" as shown above.

Fr. Michael

Brothers and Sisters,

In our first reading (Isaiah 6:1-8), the prophet Isaiah enjoys a vision of Heaven. He says, “I saw the Lord seated on a high and lofty throne, with the train of his garment filling the temple. Seraphim were stationed above.” This reminds us that the Jerusalem Temple was regarded as an image of Heaven, the abode of God, where Seraphim are the highest rank or choir of angels. All that we know from Scripture of their mission is that they constantly contemplate and praise God, as is seen in today’s passage.

The prophet continues, “They cried one to another, ‘Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts! All the earth is filled with his glory!’” Hopefully this is familiar! We say it with the Seraphim at every Mass when we proclaim the Sanctus prayer, “Holy, holy, holy, Lord God of Hosts, heaven and earth are of full of your glory…” This occurs right before the congregation kneels for the Eucharistic Prayer.

What a privilege it is to pray with those angels closest to God in Heaven, adoring the Lord in their words, as we prepare for his arrival in the Eucharist! Make sure to join in this joyful prayer with thanksgiving and gladness, and cry out with the Seraphim, “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord!”

This Sunday is World Marriage Day. May the Lord bless all of our marriages, that husbands and wives may be joyful, dedicated cooperators in the work of salvation, helping one another towards our eternal home. May he hold in his gentle embrace the souls of our spouses who have gone before us, and grant comfort to those who remain. Please join me in prayer for an increase in holy marriages that are united to Christ, along with an end to cohabitation and impure relationships within the Church.

And, some very exciting news: I am overjoyed to announce that we have hired a new Director of Music! Mary Rose Gallipeau will join our staff around the beginning of Lent to lead our music department. She is a wonderfully talented and tremendously accomplished musician of organ, piano, harp, and voice who brings a breadth of musical and pastoral experience to us. Please keep Mary Rose and her fiancé, Luke, in your prayers as they are married this Friday—yes, Valentine’s Day! She looks forward to meeting all of you!

In amore Christi,

Fr. Michael
